Dimapur, July 14 (EMN): A group called Earth Day Network (EDN) has expressed appreciation for the Southern Angami Youth Organisation (Sayo) for declaring Dzükou valley in Kohima district a plastic free zone.
A note from the EDN addressed to the Sayo was made available to media houses on July 14.
The note read: "It was wonderful to know about the brilliant work being undertaken by young people that your organisation is doing declaring Dzükou valley (Nagaland) situated in one of the world Indo Myanmar biodiversity hotspot as plastic free zone, Earth Day congratulate you, the great global clean up and other environment programmes to conserve species and environment."
"Keeping in mind our common goals we look forward to discussing with you the ways to synergise our effort to 'protect our species'.
We would be happy to share resource material for joint programmes toward this end," the EDN added.
