Imposes ‘no entry restriction’ in Dzükou valley and Kezoltsa

Dimapur, April 13 (EMN): The Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) has lamented the imposition of Section 144 of the CrPC near Manipur border by the district magistrate of Senapati district, Manipur, earlier this month, saying that it directly affects the land of Southern Angamis.

In a press release, the organisation appealed to the government of Manipur to revoke Section 144 of the CrPC near in the said area, saying that there is no reason to take such move until the dispute is resolved by the TPO.

SAYO stated that ‘the incapacitated action of the district magistrate is unreasonable, misleading and provocative of peaceful coexistence between the neighbouring villages as the SAYO had suspended the indefinite bandh on National Highway in our jurisdiction owing to the Angami Public Organisation (APO) Golden Jubilee celebration’.

It stated that bandh was kept in abeyance not because of any internally or externally forces but to extend its sincere respect to APO.

It added that the bandh was suspended in view of the resolution and assurance given by the Tenyimi People’s Organisation (TPO), and respecting “the customary practice of resolving disputes by the highest decision-making body of the Tenyimi people”.

“Consequently, the SAYO is determined to take precautionary measures and compelled to impose ‘No Entry restriction’ in Dzükou Valley and Kezoltsa against encroaching parties from the state of Manipur till further notice. Failure to comply to the restrictions, in constraint, the SAYO shall initiate its own course of action against illegal trespassers,” read the press release.

“Being the custodian of the Dzükou Valley and Kezoltsa, the SAYO will take all necessary steps to defend and protect its ancestral land,” it added.

The organization also urged the government of Manipur to meet its demand by withdrawing the “armed personnel and its remnants from Kezoltsa to maintain lasting peace and tranquility among the people”.
