Dimapur, April 24 (EMN): Members of the Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) along with the Four by Four Brigade of Red Shield Division under Spear Corps carried out a joint cleanliness drive at the picturesque Dzukou Valley on April 24.
An update from SAYO stated that personnel from the Indian Army provided logistics support, manpower and refreshments during the cleanliness drive and worked hand-in-hand with local youth volunteers to clean up plastics and garbage that have accumulated along the Viswema route.
It stated that Brigadier Amit Sharma, station commander of Zakhama Military Station along with Metekhrielie Mejura, SAYO president, other council members of SAYO and local youth have welcomed the volunteers after the conclusion of the cleanliness drive.
The local residents have expressed gratitude to the Indian army for fostering a spirit of brotherhood and mutual respect as well as making meaningful contributions towards local issues.
Report further stated that a total of nine military officers and 23 personnel from the Indian Army along with 17 volunteers from SAYO have collected 52 bags of garbage during the cleanliness drive.
In a separate statement pertaining to land dispute at Kezoltsa, SAYO has reaffirmed to render and continue all-out efforts and co-operation to the Tenyimi Public Organisation (TPO) and Board of Arbitrators (BOA) of TPO in an affirmative anticipation of a timely verdict.
It also urged the stakeholders and signatories of the Arbitration Agreement to commit sincerely to the undertaking so as to enable in delivering a befitting conclusion to the issue.
