Satoi Range Students’ Union commemorates golden jubilee

Dimapur, Jan. 17 (EMN): Satoi Range Students’ Union (SRSU) commemorated its golden jubilee on the theme “towards new hope” from January 7 to 9 at Satoi town.

Minister for Agriculture and Co-operation G Kaito Aye attended the inaugural function as special guest. He unfurled the union flag besides unveiling the jubilee memorial monolith.

Aye challenged the students to give back to society ‘because they will be leaders tomorrow’, stated an update.

“Nothing comes easy and without hard work and therefore students must work hard in sincere dedication in order to achieve their dreams and goals,” it said.

S Kavito Aomi, former president of the union and Assistant Director, Food and Civil Supplies, Nagaland was the special guest of cultural session. He called upon to students to emphasise on preserving one’s own cultural heritage and it’s values. 

Dr. Hutton Sumi, pastor, Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto, speaking during the programme, stressed on the theme of the jubilee and said the world never ceases to revolve and so does the progress of the people.

“What new beginning that we make today and pursuing the same with determination will yield fruit of success in days to come and that will in turn add to the progress of the society,” it read.

Former president of the union K Atovi Awomi, president, All Nagaland PWD Field Workers Association, paid homage to the pioneers of the union.

Assistant Director, Industry and Commerce, Khekihe K Zhimo said that one’s identity is what one achieves in life.

Speaking as a special guest, he called upon the students to be resolute in their studies in order to become successful in life.

Renowned Sumi artists like Zakato Awomi, Abel Assumi and NK Naga, performed during the jubilee celebration.
