Dr. Akaho Sema officially delivers an ambulance to PHC Satoi in Zunheboto on June 23.

Dimapur, June 25 (EMN): A new ambulance for primary health centre (PHC) Satoi in Zunheboto district was inaugurated on June 24 by the EAC Satoi, Sizin Rentta, while the dedicatory prayer was said by Daniel Murru, pastor of Satoi Town Baptist Church.

The chief medical officer (CMO), Zunheboto, Dr. Akaho Sema, officially handed over the new ambulance to Ikiye-Itovi Youth Front (IIYF) officials on June 23 in presence of the Satoi Range GBs’ Association (SRGBA) general secretary, Kakheto Aye, and the vice president at his office in Zunheboto.

The ambulance was allotted in response to the IIYF representation served to the Health and Family Welfare on March 6 last and the subsequent assurance made by Dr. Kevichusa Medikhru, former principal director of Health and Family Welfare, stated an update from IIYF media cell.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, IIYF president Kavi Awomi stated that people in the region had faced many untold problems without ambulance at PHC Satoi especially during emergency for transporting serious patients. He also stated that IIYF officials have made maximum efforts for an ambulance in Satoi range.

He has acknowledged the CMO Zunheboto and the department for timely delivery of ambulance. Stating that the ambulance should be stationed at health centre and not be utilised other than transporting patients, he urged the medical staff to take a good care of the facility. 

Also speaking at the programme, SRGBA president Kaito Zhimo appealed to the eleven villages to co-operate with the administration and healthcare workers. He also lauded IIYF for fulfilling the long cherish dreams of the people.  

SRGBA general secretary, Kakheto Aye, and official of Satoi Town Youth Organisation (STYO) also spoke during the programme. Report also stated that GBs from eleven villages in Satoi area, SRGBA office bearers, STYO officials, public leaders and PHC staff attended the inaugural programme.
