Dimapur, June 18 (EMN): The long awaited dreams of Satoi area people under Satakha sub-division was realised with the introduction of NST bus service from Zunheboto district headquarters to Satoi on June 16 which was flagged off by G Kaito Aye, minister of National Highways and Political Affairs, at Satoi town.
Addressing the flag off programme, Aye stressed on the need for people’s participation towards ushering in any sort of development. He said that unity of the people and developments go hand in hand and added that though much has been done towards “development” yet it is left in the hands of the people to decide on the direction towards which “developments” should unfold.
While declaring that Satoi town will now be in the official map of Nagaland with a bus service route, he attributed this as an achievement by the people and also extended his gratitude to transport minister and the department officials to connect Zunheboto district Hq. with Satoi EAC Hq through the NST bus service.
Also speaking during the flag off programme, Viyiho, Head GB Satoi town, expressed his happiness on behalf of the people of Satoi Area and thanked the minister for his contributions toward the people of the area.
Nikato, SRSU president, expressed gratitude to the minister for his concern for the people of the area and the future generations to come. SRSU president said the introduction of the bus service has fulfilled a long awaited dream and cry of the people of the area and further called for unity in the area for a better future.
President Satoi Range Public Union Dimapur, Shikuto Yepthomi, expressed gratitude to the Transport department, its officials and the minister stating that the introduction of the NST bus service will not only serve the purpose of conveyance but would help the people in their quest for economic sustenance.
Additional General Manager NST, Shikaho, thanked the minister for his concern and tireless efforts in bringing the vus service to the area. He also sought cooperation from the people of the area in ushering in quality service. Station Superintendent, Kakishe, also spoke on the occasion with regard to the rules, bus fare and timing.
The flagging off programme was organised by the Satoi Area Kukami Hoho (SAKH) under the aegis of the State Transport Department. The programme was attended by Shikaho, Additional GM NST; Er. Akuto Wotsa. EE NST; Kakishe, SS Zunheboto; Nokpai Konyak, EAC Satoi; Nikato, president Satoi Range Students’ Union; Shikuto Yeputhomi, president SRPUD, and his colleagues. People from the 11 villages of the area gathered in the town to witness their long awaited dream come true. The programme was chaired by Kughai, president SAKH.
