Sasu serves seven-day deadline to erring teachers

Dimapur, Aug. 29 (EMN): The Seyochung Area Students’ Union (Sasu) has served seven-day deadline, starting Aug. 30, to those teachers who keep proxy within its jurisdiction. The union demanded that the “dishonest” teachers report for duty at their respective schools before the ultimatum expires. The union cautioned that failure to do so will invite action from the SASU and the concerned teacher(s) will be held responsible for any untoward incident. A statement jointly appended by the union president K Chumseli Anar and general secretary Holise Sangtam, said that practiced of proxy teacher ‘has becoming like a daily culture’ which is the root cause of poor result. The union stated that the Sasu had published several notifications in print media and also to the concern schools about proxy teachers, but the erring teachers did not pay heed to its plea and failed to perform their duty. Meanwhile, the Sasu appealed to the advisor of School Education, K Tokugha Sukhalu to look into the matter to avoid unwanted situation.
