Dimapur, July 10 (EMN): Science and Technology Intervention in North East Region – Technology Facilitation Centre (STINER-TFC) at School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development (SASRD), NU Medziphema campus, collaboration with EMPRETEC India Foundation, organised an interactive session on entrepreneurship on July 6 at its multi-purpose hall.

An update from SASRD stated that the programme was conceptualised to establish the value and utility of entrepreneurial mindset among the young generation and provide suggestive evidence that growing entrepreneurial mindset have a positive impact in getting youth to see entrepreneurship and self-employment as a possible career.

It stated that realising the importance of instilling the qualities of self-reliance and self-resilience in the upcoming generation, students from high schools and higher secondary, college and university from around Dimapur district were invited to participate in the interaction programme.

A team of 15 eminent entrepreneurs from EMPRETEC India Foundation both from outside and within the state inspired the participants through their struggles and success stories, while emphasising on the importance of developing creative minds, determination and dedication towards achieving one’s goal.

Arnab Chakrabortty, national director of EMPRETEC India Foundation, moderated the session. It stated different ideas including existing and expecting problems and various experiences were shared by the eminent resource persons and willing participants. It added that the entire session ignited many young minds towards the entrepreneurial sector.

The programme was chaired by Prof. Akali Sema, PI, STINER-TFC and Dean of SASRD, NU, while the welcome address was delivered by Prof. Aleminla Ao, Pro Vice Chancellor, SASRD, NU.

A total of 377 participants comprising of students from Modern Christian School, Rivenburg School, King David Higher Secondary School, Government Higher Secondary School, Livingstone Foundation International, Pilgrim School, Unity College, Dimapur Government College, Eastern Christian College, Tetso College, B Sc, M Sc and Ph.D scholars from SASRD NU as well as aspiring local entrepreneurs participated in the interactive programme.
