SASRD conducts training for farmers in Beisumpuikam village
Dimapur, July 29 (EMN): The ICAR-AICRP on Sesame under School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development (SASRD), Nagaland University, Medziphema campus, organised a one-day farmers training on organic sesame production and input distribution programme at Beisumpuikam village on July 25.
An update from SASRD stated that Prof. L Tongpang Longkumer, Head of Agronomy department, made a presentation on the importance and scope of organic farming with special reference to Nagaland.
It stated that package and practices of organic sesame cultivation was delivered by Dr. AP Singh, PI of the project, in which he highlighted the objective and need of organic sesame cultivation in Nagaland.
It further stated that farmers were presented with vermi bags, quality sesame seeds and small farm implements after the programme. Altogether, 60 farmers attended the training programme.
