Sao Chang College conducts 5-day FDP on entrepreneurship
DIMAPUR — Sao Chang College, Tuensang, conducted a five-day faculty development programme (FDP) on entrepreneurship from February 19 to 23 under the project “Establish, Develop and Manage Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) and Incubation Centre (IC) in the Educational Institute of North Eastern Region,” sponsored by the North Eastern Council (NEC), Shillong.
The programme was organised by the Entrepreneurship Development Centre at Sao Chang College. The nodal agency for the project was the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati, according to an update.
During the inaugural session, Dr. Lanurenla, principal of Sao Chang College, highlighted the importance of organising the FDP, while resource person Lemkhaba, assistant professor, gave an introductory talk on entrepreneurship. Local entrepreneur A Alemla shared her success story and Tongpangkokla Chang, assistant professor and head, department of Botany, spoke on leadership and team building.
On the second day, Chongshen Chang, director, Eleutheros Christian Society (ECS) and Samuel I Chang, ECS member, talked about ECS’s role in entrepreneurship and discussed business model development. Vishak, an ECS member, gave a presentation on market research and analysis, covering marketing concepts. Advocate Yimtsusangla Issar talked about legal and regulatory aspects for startups and Dipak Nath, assistant professor and HoD, department of Physics presented on intellectual property rights.
Sarei Muinao, LDM, LBO, SBI Tuensang discussed entrepreneurial support systems and government schemes on the third day. Tsiachitho Kajiri, assistant branch head, Northeast Small Finance Bank, spoke on financial statements. Nungsangtola, assistant professor, department of Physics presented on marketing and sales strategies.
On the fourth day, Sangmei Choba, director of Digital Morung, Tuensang, discussed emerging technologies and enterprise development. Toninaro, assistant professor, department of Sociology, talked about pitching and presentation skills. Rangbenkumla, assistant professor, department of EVS discussed networking and relationship building.
P Chingmak Chang, president of the Local Entrepreneurs Association, Tuensang (LEAT), gave a presentation on entrepreneurial opportunities in the Northeast on the final day, and Dr. Yelhi Vero, assistant professor at Dimapur Government College, talked about import and export procedures. Mudang Khiamniungan, assistant professor, department of Education presented on social responsibility and ethics.
In total, 15 participants from various institutes in Tuensang town took part in this programme.
