Sanitation programme Swachh Survekshan Grameen inaugurated

Dimapur, Sep. 18 (EMN): The department of Public Health Engineering (PHE) has launched the Swachh Survekshan Grameen (SSG) for 2019, on September 18 at the Lotha Eloe Hoho conference hall in Wokha. The SSG is stated to be a cleanliness and sanitation programme. The government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) gave updates on Wednesday offering details about the programme. The SSG was launched by subdivision officer for the PHED, Hukato K Shohe, the updates stated. An extra assistant commissioner, Arhomo Yanthan, spoke at the event, the updates informed. He urged the people to adopt ‘clean’ and ‘hygienic’ lifestyle, which should include keeping the surrounding and community areas clean and not just the individual household. “He also appealed to the gathering to not just address the problem but do their part towards achieving a clean district. In order to become a plastic free district, every household should avoid the use of plastic products and find alternative means to make plastic free Nagaland,” he added, according to the IPR. Also, the executive engineer of the Wokha PHE, Imnazulu, no surname given in the IPR report, was stated to have urged the people to practice segregation of waste and properly dispose water to avoid pollution.
