Sand transporters threaten to stop plying

Dimapur, April 11 (EMN): The Karbi Anglong Dimapur transporters’ association on Wednesday threatened to indefinitely stop the transportation of sand unless collection by the Karbi Anglong Sand and Stone Mohaldar Union is stopped. In a press release it informed that the Karbi Anglong Sand and Stone Mohaldar Union were charging an extra amount of INR 7500 without issuing money receipt while the charges at the mohal (depot) was only INR 6000. It informed that the decision was taken during a meeting of the Karbi Anglong Dimapur Transporters’ association with the owners and drivers of sand carrying vehicles on April 11.
