Sand to cost INR 110 per cft once ban on supply to Dimapur is lifted
Diphu, Sep. 4 (EMN): The Sand Mahaldar Suppliers’ Association (SMSA), Manja has resolved to increase the rate of sand from INR 32 to INR 110/cft. It will come into force as soon as the ban on interstate supply of sand is lifted by the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC).
This was informed by the association through a press communique on Friday.
The press statement stated that “the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) in its notification on 06/08/2020, bans river bed mining and interstate supply of sand. The same was subsequently notified again by the DFO, East Division, Karbi Anglong on 10/08/2020 to totally ban the interstate supply of sand to Dimapur, Nagaland through NH 36 and NH 39”.
SMSA added that “the SMSA has welcome the decision of the authority of KAAC and it ceased and halt all business operations including extraction and transportation, as it could no longer continues with the ongoing rate of sand. Consequent upon the steep rise and in keeping pace with the price of all other commodities, the Sand Mahaldar and Supplier Association(SMSA) has passed and resolved to increase the rate of sand to INR 110/cft (one hundred and ten per cft). This shall come into force as soon as the ban on interstate supply of sand is lifted by the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC). All esteemed customers are therefore requested to comply and bear with this. All previous order in regards to this has become infructuous”.
Earlier the rate of sand was INR 32 per cft, informed SMSA official.
