Galaxy A14 launched in India

South Korean tech giant, Samsung, has launched the Galaxy A14 in India, targeting cost-conscious users. It follows the release of the slightly pricier Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A54 models.

While the Galaxy A14 shares a similar design, it lacks 5G support due to affordability compromises. The base model is priced at INR 13,999, offering 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Alternatively, for INR 14,999, users can get the same RAM but with 128GB storage. The Indian variant of the device will be powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 850 chipset.

Though resembling its premium siblings, the Galaxy A14 boasts distinctive features that position it as a budget device. Its textured back panel provides a unique visual appeal, while the front panel retains noticeable bezels and a traditional waterdrop-style notch housing the selfie camera. Notably, Samsung chose an LCD display instead of the popular AMOLED display found in higher-end models. Nevertheless, the 6.6-inch Full-HD+ (1080×2408) display ensures a satisfactory viewing experience.

The Galaxy A14 boasts a triple-camera setup with a 50MP primary camera, a rare 5MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. It supports Full-HD video recording at 30fps and also features a 13MP front camera for selfie duties.

Other notable features include expandable storage of up to 1TB via microSD, dual-SIM support, a USB-C charging port and a massive 5,000mAh battery. Samsung no longer includes a charger in the box, but customers can purchase the official 25W Samsung charger for INR 1,299 or explore cheaper third-party chargers with Type-C ports.

Interested buyers can purchase the Galaxy A14 from Samsung’s official website or from authorised retail partners throughout India. Users can choose from three colour options: Black, light green and silver. The current introductory price for the phone is INR 13,999, making it an appealing choice for those seeking a cost-effective smartphone offering reliable performance and essential features.
