Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5: Leaked image surfaces online
Samsung is set to unveil the highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 5 at an event in Seoul, Korea, during the last week of July. Leaks about the phone have been circulating, and today an image that is likely part of its marketing campaign has surfaced.
The leaked image, courtesy of MySmartPrice, showcases a stunning design. However, it must be noted that this has yet to be officially confirmed by Samsung.
Nonetheless, the render reveals Samsung’s new foldable design, featuring a phone that can be closed flat. This suggests a significant design improvement with a more modern hinge. Other companies have used a “waterdrop” hinge design to achieve a flat form factor, reducing screen creases and enhancing the display’s appearance.
Samsung has been criticised for being slow to innovate in the foldable smartphone market, possibly due to a lack of competition. However, the leaked render indicates that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is a step in the right direction. While the overall design is similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, there’s a noticeable difference in the placement of the LED light near the rear cameras, which has been shifted to the side in the upcoming model.
The device is expected to feature Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, offering improved performance. There may be minor changes to the device’s dimensions, but consumers are especially excited about camera enhancements, which remain undisclosed until the official unveiling.
