Dimapur, Nov. 20 (EMN): State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (Sameti) organised a two-day online training programme on “Low cost nursery management of important crops in Nagaland” for Agricultural Technology Management Agency (Atma) functionaries on November 18 and 19.
The training programme was focussed on the importance of growing one’s own food through low cost nurseries and kitchen gardens, an update from Sameti stated on Friday. It stated that technical know-how on starting a home nursery, common inter-cultural practices and management of common pests and diseases were imparted by the resource persons.
Resource persons were Dr. Moasunep, agriculture inspector of bio-control laboratory, IETC Medziphema, and Dr. Lowrence Kithan, scientist (Agronomy), AICRP on Pigeon Pea from NU: SASRD.
The report further stated that Atma extension functionaries from all districts of the state have participated in the training programme adding e-certificates were issued to the participants.
