Salesian College felicitates Thono for winning gold in National Games
DIMAPUR — Kitenlo K Thono, a fifth-semester student of Salesian College of Higher Education, Dimapur, was felicitated by the college for winning the gold medal in the Pencak silat tanding fight category at the recently concluded 37th National Games in Goa.
According to a press release, during the felicitation programme, the principal of the college also announced a scholarship in recognition of his hard work and discipline.
The release mentioned that he began his journey in 2019 and competed in the Junior National Championship in Amritsar, Punjab, and won two gold medals—one for tanding and the other for artistic event.
He competed in the Nagaland State Tournament senior category, which was held in Dimapur in December 2021, and won gold in tanding. He also competed in the North East India Pencak Silat Championship in Imphal, Manipur, in April 2023, again winning the gold medal in tanding.
