Dimapur, September 9 : Infuriated that the Nagaland government continues to show “dame care” (sic) attitude to the demand for release pending salaries, the Nagaland RMSA Teachers’ Association-2015-16 (NRMSATA) has given the Education department 10 days do fulfil said demand.
“More than sufficient reminders have been made to the department concerned notably with recent two open letters in the local print media regarding to the non-release of pending salaries of RMSA 2016 teachers,” a copy of the representation from the organization stated on September 9. “And much to our utter surprise interestingly the ‘dame care’ attitude opted by the state government towards the CSS employees and particularly RMSA teachers when the only means to fulfil its daily bread and other necessity was to solely depend entirely on its salary is intolerable…”
The group wondered if the Nagaland government was “trying its best for fund divert to elsewhere” considering that the RTI has pointed out that the Ministry of Human Resource Development had already ‘sanctioned the recurring fund by July itself.’
“While in a move to put and ascertain the facts and reasons of delay in salary release the central forum executives had a separate meetings where by it came to learn that the file process has been delayed on account of the absence of parliamentary secy. (Planning & coordination) Shri. Neiba Kronu who is currently in Delhi for official work,” the NRMSATA stated.
The group has demanded reasons “why our parliamentary secretary’s official trip had been prolonged and keep on extending when he was needed here the most.”
The representation stated further that the longer the delay in releasing the salary, the more the delay in submission of the utilisation certificates which is need to release new instalments of funds.
“It was also learnt from the Education dept. that it had forwarded two proposals on 3rd & 9th August to the department of Planning and coordination relating to salary release of RMSA teachers which is still held up in the department due to the absence of the minister concerned,” the teachers stated.
Stating that the patience of the teachers was now “running out of control with each passing day” waiting for positive response from the department, the teachers have warned that “they will be constrained to initiate its own course of action which might even have the potential to go to the extent of jeopardizing the teaching learning process and ultimately resulting to putting thousands of innocent Students career at stake and for which the concerned department and state government shall be solely held responsible.”
The NRMSATA has asked all their district convenors, representatives and members to be “mentally prepared for any eventuality that might occur if it failed to get any positive response from the department within the expiry of the ultimatum served which will commence from the day of its publication.”
