Dimapur, March 10 (EMN): Health minister, S Pangnyu Phom, inaugurated the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Sakshi, Pongo and Namching in Longleng district on March 9.

Speaking at the inauguration of PHC at Sakshi, Pangnyu stated that Sakshi block is the most neglected part of the district which is lagging behind in infrastructure development. He has appealed to the government to give special attention for the uplift of Sakshi. The minister also urged the leaders of Sakshi to work harder with dedication for the benefit of the people.

Speaking at the inauguration of Pongo PHC, Pangnyu expressed confidence that the seeds sown would benefit the people for generations to come. He also called upon the health department officials to carry out the follow-up action in order to fulfil the needs of the people in the area.

He further called upon the public to extend full cooperation and support the healthcare workers in order to deliver the desire healthcare delivery system.   

At Namchan, the minister informed the people that development of healthcare facilities was one of the priority commitments of the PDA government. Stating that there are many non-functional healthcare centres in the state, Pangnyu informed that the government is trying to revamp the system in order to deliver modern healthcare service to the public.

He further thanked the officers and staff from the department of Health and Family Welfare for their support and cooperation rendered to him. He was optimistic that the upgraded PHCs under Longleng would benefit the neighbouring villages from Tuensang and Mon district.

Also speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner of Longleng, M Shayung Phom, congratulated the Health department for upgrading more health centres in the district. He urged the landowners not create hindrance on land issues but rather donate generously for the common good of all.
