Sakhi OSCs in Nagaland assist 444 women in nine years

DIMAPUR — According to data from the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Sakhi-One Stop Centres (OSCs) in Nagaland have assisted 444 women from April 1, 2015, to March 31, 2024.

OSCs are intended to support women affected by violence in private and public spaces, within the family, community and workplace. Women facing physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and economic abuse, irrespective of age, class, caste, education status, marital status, race and culture, are facilitated with support and redressal through the centres.

In Nagaland, a total of 16 OSCs have been approved, with 11 currently operational. From 2023 to March 31, 2024, these operational centres provided assistance to 198 women. The highest number of women assisted on a yearly basis was during 2021-2022, with 275 women receiving support.
