The 7th Annual Sports Meet of Sainik School Pungwa kicked off on November 1 at the school premises. Captain (IN) Kanchan Mukherjee, Principal, Sainik School Punglwa graced the occasion as the chief guest. The first opening event of 5000 meter run competition, which was flagged off by Lt Col Sumeet Sharma, Registrar, was held under two categories. Under the cadets category; Cadet Y. Longdilong (Japfu House) bagged the 1st position. Cadet T.Chingshen (Tizu House) and Cadet Gamlin (Patkai House) bagged the second and third respectively. In the staff category, Seyiekuolie (General Employee) led the race, followed by Gudu Rajak (General Employee) and Keshav A. Chetri (Asst. Master Social Sc) who came second and third respectively. The Principal congratulated the participants for excellent display of true spirit of sportsmanship and gave away medals and prizes to the proud winners.
