Sainik School Punglwa cricket c’ship held

Dimapur, Sep. 10 (EMN): Sainik School Punglwa organised a cricket championship for novice cadets from which was held from Sep. 2 till the 9th with an objective to encourage the cadets to explore their talents in games and sports and to enable them to excel in the game they are good at.

The championship was played by the six sections of classes 6 and 7 on league cum knockout basis, according to a press release received here on Mon. Sep. 10.

In the final match, class 6A after winning the toss, decided to bat first and scored 70 runs in 10 overs.  Chasing 71 runs to win, class 7B easily won the match by eight wickets and were crowned champions of the tournament. Class 7A was placed third in the championship.

After giving away the prizes, the Chief Guest Lt Col M Kiran Meitei, Officiating Principal, congratulated the winners. In his short address, the Chief Guest encouraged the cadets to put in their best in every competition they take part; be it academics, games and sports or otherwise.
