Dimapur, Aug. 17 (EMN): The Sainik School Punglwa, Inter-House Badminton Championship which began of Aug. 8 culminated on Thur. Aug. 16.
The championship was organised with a motive to inculcate physical flexibility, endurance and self confidence in cadets and was played in four categories: junior singles, junior doubles, sub-junior singles and sub-junior doubles according to a press release.
Melak House emerged as the champion whereas Tizu House and Patkai House secured the first and second runners-up.
The championship was also organised for the staff on the same scheduled dates along with the cadets. It was conducted as men’s doubles only.
Gp Captain Sharad R Keskar, the Principal of the school graced the event as chief guest on the final day. The chief guest presented trophy, medals and certificates to the winning cadets and staff. While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest congratulated all the winners. He appreciated all the participants for exhibiting excellent team spirit and coordination. He also encouraged them to improve their game and excel.
