Sainik School organises X-country competition
The principal of Sainik School Punglwa giving away prize to the winners of the X-country championship on Tuesday.

DIMAPUR — Sainik School Punglwa (SSP) organised an inter-house X-country championship on Tuesday with the participation of 403 cadets representing ten houses in different categories.

An update from the school stated that the senior cadets from classes X and XI competed in a 7km category, while the junior cadets from classes VIII and IX competed in 5km and from classes VI and VII competed in ran 3 km run.

It added that girl cadets enthusiastically participated shoulder to shoulder alongside their male counterparts.

It stated that cadet Lumrola Lumro and cadet Tannu Singh secured the 1st positions in the girls’ category for the 5 km and 3 km runs respectively.

In the junior category, cadet Thamphong Konyak of Pauna House claimed the 1st position clocking 20.35 minutes, while cadet Vicky Kumar and cadet M Honlem Konyak secured 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

In the senior category, cadet Yazei Konyak of Tizu house emerged as the winner clocking 27.56 minutes, while cadet Resomong L and cadet Reguilungbe secured the 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively.

Japfu House emerged victorious in the senior category whereas Patkai House won the junior category consecutively for the third time.

Medals and trophies were awarded by the principal of the school.
