Sainik School Inter-House Badminton C’ship concludes

Dimapur, Aug. 19 (EMN): The Sainik School Punglwa, Inter-House Badminton Championship that began on August 8 culminated on August 17. The championship was organised with a motive to inculcate physical flexibility, endurance and self confidence in cadets, stated Col C Konwer, PRO (Defence), in an update on Monday. The championship was played in four categories; Junior singles, junior doubles, sub-junior singles, and sub-junior doubles. Saramati House and Patkai House emerged champions in the sub-junior and junior category respectively. The championship was also organised for the staff on the same scheduled dates of cadets. It was conducted as Men’s Doubles only. APTC Rehneesh and Alex Yangkiumong Y (General Employee) won first place while Suvam Banerjee (PGT Maths) and Moasunep (Warden) won second place. Gp Capt Prasun Basu, the principal of the school attended the final day as the chief guest. While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest congratulated all the winners for their impressive performance, and encouraged the cadets to bring laurels in the field of games and sports especially in the East Zone Championship. The chief guest presented trophy, medals and certificates to the winning cadets and staff.
