Sainik School annual sports meet held
Dimapur, Dec. 8 (EMN): Sainik School Punglwa celebrated its 11th annual sports meet with Namri Nchang, Advisor for water resources department, government of Nagaland as the chief guest on Sat. Dec. 8.
The programme began with the principal, Gp Capt Sharad R Keskar welcoming the guests, dignitaries, and gathering followed by lighting of the lamp and release of ‘VYWOM’ (half yearly magazine) by the chief guest, stated an update received here on Saturday.
This was followed immediately by the inter-house athletics events such as the 100m, 200m, 400m and 4×100 relay. In 100m dash, Cdt Pranav Chandra topped the position and in 200m, Cdt Pauku Meru clocked his run with a timing of 0:29:35 seconds.
Patkai house lifted the champions’ trophy of the 11th annual sports meet and the chief guest presented the medals, certificates and trophy to the winners.
The chief guest while addressing the gathering expressed his happiness for the warm welcome by the school. He was also happy to note the commitments and hard work of the school for tomorrow’s future. He appreciated the school for imparting quality education since the inception of the school. He advised the cadets to focus in studies and exploit the best facilities offered to them so as to gain all round development. He also emphasised that the cadets should adopt virtues such as perseverance, obedience, discipline and humility as these contribute to become a true sportsman.
