DIMAPUR — NSCN(R)  has expressed its gratitude to Maj. Gen. (retd) Ang Mai for the safe release of two persons abducted from Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh, unharmed.

In a press release, the collective leaders of the NSCN/GPRN(R)  expressed their joy and thanked the chairman of the NSCN(K) , Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Ang Mai, and Commander-in-Chief, Lt. Gen. Langnyai Konyak, for the safe release of both Katwang Wangham and Gangtei Gangsa.

“It is a great relief to the families of the abductees and the Wancho community in particular and to the people of Tirap, Changlang and Longding in general,” the note read, adding that the group appreciates the maturity and understanding shown by the NSCN(K)  leaders.

It maintained that in order for the Naga people to live as one, people cannot engage in kidnapping, and it hoped that the NSCN (K)  leaders would prevail on the ‘rough cadres’ and prevent them from engaging in such anti-social activities in the future.
