Sabino wins folk song competition
KOHIMA — Sabino Hibo was declared winner in the solo folk fusion category of the second All Nagaland Open Folk Song and Folk Fusion competition held at Khuzama play ground on Saturday on the theme “Strength of the past, melody of the future.”
Aloina and Khrielhoubi Kaimo won the second and third positions respectively.
Tsahoro Group and Poimi Students’ Union Kohima won first and second respectively in group folk song, while Atenle Seb and Menoulhounuo Lese won first and second in solo folk song.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, who was the special guest, viewed that the music industry is improving in Nagaland. With TaFMA in placed, he stated that more talents have been identified and many are living out of making music.
He appreciated the coming together of different tribes for coming together to participate in the event, saying it is a step towards abolition of tribalism in Nagaland. He expressed hope that the event would serve as a platform in bringing together different community under one platform.
The event host, Nunese Sale, informed that the event was held to promote cultural heritage and encourage local entrepreneurs by displaying and selling their products.
Judges were Dr. Alune Tetseo from Tetseo Sisters, Neikou Khezhie and Kehodi Yoho, both from Coloured Keys. The event was organised by Kekhrie Krotho in collaboration with TaFMA.
