‘SAARTHI-Awareness on Wheel’ campaign held in Longleng

DIMAPUR — The ‘SAARTHI-Awareness on Wheel’ campaign on family planning, organised under Mission Parivar Vikas, concluded in Longleng.

According to a press release, conducted by the District Health Society Longleng, during the programme, sessions were held on March 27 at Netnyu and Kangching, and on April 1 at Nyang, Yongam, Oushok Hukphang, and Pongching.

The SAARTHI-Vehicle is a smartly designed vehicle equipped with information, education, and communication (IEC) materials and family planning commodities, as noted in the release.

During the campaign, the SAARTHI team was led by Deputy Programme Manager (DPM) Viroli Sangtam, who is the Block Programme Manager for all three blocks under Longleng. The team also included block asha coordinators and a media officer.

Viroli counselled all eligible couples and educated them on family planning and how to access family planning services, as well as spacing methods that allow couples to choose the intervals for pregnancies and the number of children they want by using temporary methods such as condoms, copper T insertion, and contraceptive pills.

The distribution of IEC materials, condoms, and oral contraceptive pills was also done.
