Dimapur, August 11 (EMN): Season long, farmers’ field school on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in paddy was conducted at Rüsoma Village on August 9.
Delivering keynote address, APPO Akhrie Yhome, stressed on the importance of the training programme and said that farmers should not expect only monetary benefit but gain knowledge from such practical training.
The training is to make farmers expert in their field and thus this has gain significance in the context of climate change and the consequences that follows, where farmers need to be alert and equipped to tackle the challenges in their field.
Resource persons deliberated on topics like AESA, insect pest identification, stem borer management and spider activity.
