DIMAPUR — The Department of Art and Culture (DoA&C) has reminded all rural libraries registered with the department to collect the prescribed format and submit their library details to the respective district cultural officers on or before November 30.

Failure to do so will result in automatic cancellation of their registration as NGO libraries under the department, according to a DIPR report. It was informed that this requirement is necessary for the recognition of libraries, as recommended by the Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation, Kolkata.

It was further notified that the recognition of libraries will be renewed periodically, subject to a proper inspection of their satisfactory functioning and the services provided.

All NGO libraries must also be registered in the NGO Darpan system (ngodarpan.gov.in) of the Government of India, and the unique ID generated from NGO Darpan must be mentioned.
