Rural Development dept. bids goodbye to outgoing director
Dimapur, Sep. 30 (EMN): A farewell programme was organised in honour of outgoing director of Rural Development department Imlimeren Jamir on Monday at RD conference hall.
Jamir, who joined government service as research officer in 1984, is retiring after successfully completing 35 years of service, informed an update from the publicity cell of Rural Development department.
Speaking on the occasion, the outgoing director expressed gratitude to his superiors and subordinates for extending their cooperation and support during his one year and nine months’ term as director. Sharing his journey, he said it was a “fantastic experience” for which he was thankful to God for the skills he acquired in the process.
Minister for Rural Development Metsubo Jamir described the outgoing director as one of the most humble and obedient officers he had the privilege to work with and lauded him for managing the department efficiently in his own gentle way, adding that running a department like rural development is not an easy job. He also sought the support of the officers and staff to cooperate with the incoming director so that she can run the department efficiently.
Describing the outgoing director as a very jolly officer and a true gentleman, principal secretary, RD, Bendangkokba maintained that he was one of the most active officers in the department and termed his retirement as a sad moment. He also congratulated him for overcoming all the obstacles and issues faced during his term as director and for maintaining the dignity of the director’s chair.
