Run for Unity marks Rashtriya Ekta Diwas in Karbi Anglong

Diphu, Oct.31 (EMN): Joining the nation in celebrating National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to commemorate the 147th birth anniversary of India’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the District Administration and District Sports Officer (DSO), Karbi Anglong organised ‘Run for Unity’ from Karbi Anglong Sports Association (KASA) stadium to Diphu market and back to KASA stadium here on Monday.

It was participated by the children of Diphu Athletic Academy, members of Karbi Anglong Mountaineering Association, Nehru Yuva Kenda, students of Karbi Anglong Karate-do Association and ex-sports persons, KASA officials and members.

The programme started at 6.30 am. 

Meanwhile, the BJP, East Karbi Anglong District Committee also organised the Run for Unity to celebrate National Unity Day at Semson Sing Ingti Memorial Park here on Monday. The run was participated by the president, BJP, EKADC, Dhansing Teron; Chief Executive Member (CEM), KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang; MP Horensing Bey; Executive Member (EMs) of KAAC and Member of Autonomous Council (MACs) and party members. The unity run went through the Diphu market and culminated at Semson Sing Ingti Memorial Park.
