RSA Mini Olympics at Tseminyu from January 11

DIMAPUR — The Rengma Sports Association (RSA) has announced that the inaugural edition of the RSA Mini Olympic 2024, will take place from January 11 to the 20th at RSA Ground in Tseminyu.

This breakthrough event will witness the enthusiastic participation of all the seven ranges under Tseminyu district, showcasing their prowess in an array of sports, including football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, table tennis, among other athletics events, the association informed in a press release on Tuesday.

Highlighting the spirit of unity and sportsmanship, the Olympic Torch Relay and the ceremonial lighting of the Olympic Flame will mark the commencement of the event on January 11. This symbolic gesture aims to inspire athletes and spectators alike, symbolising the spirit of competition and friendship, the release stated.

Abu Metha, advisor to Nagaland chief minister and chairman of IDAN and secretary general of Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA), will be the event’s inaugural guest. Chairman of NIDC and director of Tetso College, Kvulo Lorin, will be the valedictory guest.

The first RSA Mini Olympic 2024 is set to be a celebration of athleticism, camaraderie and the indomitable spirit of Tseminyu as a district and its people. The ten-day event will be held on the theme ‘Aspire to Inspire,’ the release stated.
