RS One lakh bounty on murder accused

DIMAPUR police has announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh to anyone who can provide information about the main accused, Vikheho, in the brutal assault and murder of Akivito A Sumi, a Class X student of Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur on December 28.Announcing the award, Dimapur SP, in a release today evening, said any person with credible information may contact the mobile numbers – 9436609708/9436430911/9436830919 or visit the office of the SP/SDPO/OC East PS, Dimapur on any day of the week.
The main accused, Vikheho (30 years), son of late Likiye of Zukishe village under Aghunaqa area in Niuland sub-division of Dimapur district, is absconding and evading arrest.
The Dimapur police has already arrested one of the accused involved in the crime. He has been identified as Nizam Ali (21), son of Abdul Rafiq of Borsala village under Morigaon district of Assam.
The victim was brutally thrashed by a group of people in Dimapur on December 28. He succumbed to his grievous injuries on the head in Guwahati on December 30.
The murder has sparked widespread condemnation in Nagaland with apex student bodies – Naga Students Federation and Dimapur Naga Students Union – demanding arrest of the killers.
They also threatened to react adversely should the killers go scot-free.
