Dimapur, Aug. 31 (EMN): The Rising People’s Party (RPP) has filed public interest litigation (PIL) against the notification of Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR) regarding partial lifting of appointments, empowering 76 departments to conduct departmental examinations.

In a press release, the RPP said that the PIL was filed on Tuesday, August 31, by Lhikhro Kreo, Secretary (admin) of the party and others through Neiteo Koza, Advocate and Counsellor for the petitioners.

It stated that the PIL was also for operationalisation of Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB), claiming that recruiting in its absence is akin to justifying backdoor appointment. It added that the government had turned a deaf ear to its earlier appeal to the office of the chief secretary for implementation of the board.

“It is the demand of the Rising People’s Party that the said vacant number of Posts be advertised and filled only through the NPSC and NSSB recruitment exams in-order to facilitate the practice of Fair and Just recruitment process,” read the press release.

Reassuring that it would fight against backdoor appointment, the party appeals to all the right-thinking citizens and CSOs to stand up for the future of the state.
