RPI (A) members join BJP in Kiphire
KIPHIRE — A felicitation programme was held on Monday at Hopongkyü Memorial Hall, Kiphire, for former members of the Republican Party of India (Athawale) who merged with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
During the programme, T Yangseo Sangtam, former deputy speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), formally joined the BJP.
In his speech, Yangseo expressed gratitude for becoming part of the largest political party in the country. He thanked the party members for their cooperation and support during his political journey.
He also mentioned that, due to unavoidable circumstances and public pressure, he had left the BJP while serving as an executive member. However, he assured the gathering that he would now work diligently for the welfare of the people.
Benjamin Yepthomi, president of BJP Nagaland, while welcoming the RPI (A) members from the 60 AC Pungro-Kiphire constituency to the party, assured them of full support and assistance in every possible way.
He also emphasised that the BJP will always advocate for the concerns of the people of Kiphire.
