IMPHAL, September 25: President of Manipur based proscribed Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF), Irengbam Chaoren, today alleged that northeast which is said to be part of South East Asian World, has become “a site of colonial India’s military installation platform and a security bastion.” In a message to the people on the occasion of the 38th Raising Day of People’s Liberation Army (PLA), the armed wing of RPF, Chaoren also alleged that militarisation, AFSPA and counter-insurgency diplomacy are the hallmarks of India’s colonial diplomacy in the region. The Raising Day of PLA was observed at its headquarters and mobiles units on Sunday, according to a separate statement of the outfit. Conveying his deepest respects to all the people of Manipur, he offered revolutionary salute to all the heroes who have laid down their lives in the course of the “revolutionary movement.” Chaoren accused that everyday atrocities experienced by the people of Manipur are not merely the product of Government of Manipur but the result of deeper conspiracy of the central government in New Delhi. Stating that India has more than 34 lacs of drug abusers with more than 25 lacs death in the last 10 years, he added that India recorded at least 39,088 cases of crime against women. The story of drug abuse in Manipur has been a handiwork of India with evident involvement of security officials as drug cartels in the northeast India, he alleged. Expressing that the “grant-in-aid economy” has dismantled the economic life of the Manipuris by making them sterilised in terms of labour and self-sustenance, he appealed to inculcate work culture as a means to come out of such situation.
