Dimapur, July 17 (EMN): Railway Protection Force (RPF) of N.F. Railway apprehended five petty thieves in different parts of N. F. Railway in just three days stated the chief public relations officer NF Railway/Maligaon in a press statement.
According to the statement on July 13 a team of RPF, Dimapur (Lumding Division) apprehended two persons (mobile snatchers) identified as Sultan Ali, 30 years and Jahar Ali, 30 years and recovered one mobile handset (Gionee) from the possession of Sultan Ali and two mobile handsets (one Huawei and one Intex) and INR 970 from the possession of Jahar Ali. The apprehended persons along with the recovered mobiles and cash were handed over to OC/GRP/Dimapur, Nagaland for necessary action.
Similarly on July 14 about 8:30 pm personnel of RPF/Post/Guwahati, while checking at Railway gate no. 2 near Panbazar Bridge, Guwahati, apprehended one Mintu Phukan alias Tokla alias Musharaf Ali, M/20 years and recovered one stolen Lenovo mobile. The accused is a repeated offender and was arrested earlier in at least six cases in the last three years. The arrested person along with the recovered mobile was handed over to OC/GRP/Guwahati for appropriate action.
On July 15, staffs of RPF Post, Chaparmukh while checking at Kampur railway station, arrested one person identified as Nazrul Islam, 19 years and recovered two mobile handsets, one wrist watch, one waist bag and a purse containing INR 200 which was stolen from a passenger at Kampur Railway station. Subsequently, the arrested person was handed over to OC/GRP/Chaparmukh for necessary action.
Lastly on July 15, constables of RPF Post, Dharmanagar (Lumding Division), while checking in train No. 55677 UP at Baraigram Jn apprehended one person identified as Kabir Ahmed alias Ikbal Uddin (22 years) in the act of committing theft of mobile phone from a passenger of the said train. The arrested person was handed over to OC/GRP/Dharmanagar for necessary action.
