DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 13
Four riders from Dimapur – Muhammad Rafiq, Vito, Pungsui and Bendang – left for a 10-day exploration trip to North Sikkim on early Sunday morning. Under the banner of Royal Enfield Mega Ride, the trip has been designed to cover the Gurudongmar Lake and the Nathu La pass.
Gurudongmar Lake is one of the highest lakes in the world, located at an altitude of 17,100 feet (5,210 meters) and only some 5 km away from the Chinese border.
Meanwhile, Nathu La is a mountain pass in the Himalayas. It connects Sikkim with China’s Tibet autonomous region. With an altitude of 14,140 feet above sea level, the pass is said to be an offshoot of the olden Silk Road.
The trip, according to the riders, has been “powered” by Vintage Music Institute, Snare Bell and Wondering Wolfs. The flag off at Clock Tower junction was conducted by an official from the Nagaland Motorcycle Club.
