The facility was inaugurated by advisor for Power H Tovihoto Ayemi on Sat. June 22 in Dimapur. The chairman of the project, Chandu Agarwal, said that the project permit was received in Sept. and the multi-use public facility was constructed at a cost of INR 7, 47,225. The club has installed a Reverse Osmosis (RO) drinking water there, and the toilet will be a pay-and-use facility, he informed. Legislator Ayemi lauded Rotary Club for providing Dimapur with said facility. He said it was the basic facility any person could use. Ayemi urged the public to take care of the resources that have been provided. "We cannot always depend on the govt. There are certain areas where we need to contribute by community participation. We should inculcate these ideas and not always depend on the government," Ayemi said. He remarked that it was high time for the citizens to learn a sense of belongingness to the city. The administrator of the Dimapur Municipal Council Moa Sangtam also spoke at the event. In his address at the programme, he appreciated seeing the changes taking place in the city through organisations such as the Rotary Club. He expressed hope that they would continue to engage in even more community projects in the future. Encouraging the community to continue engaging in such community-centric activities, Sangtam hoped that in the future both the Naga and non-Naga will work together.
