The Rotary Club of Kohima installs Dr. Keneilhoulie Medom as president and inducts Achumbemo Kikon as honorary member.
DIMAPUR — The Rotary Club of Kohima held its 24th installation ceremony on July 17 at Hotel Japfü Kohima for the new Board of Directors (BoDs) for the Rotary year 2026–27.
According to a press release, Advisor for SCERT and Food Processing, Achumbemo Kikon, who attended the occasion as the guest of honour, highlighted the pressing need for environmental stewardship, stating that humanity must pivot away from short-sighted consumerism.
"The present generation has essentially borrowed the earth from future generations," Kikon stated. "We must remain deeply mindful of the environmental footprint we leave behind for our children,"
he added, challenging the Rotarians to lead community initiatives aimed at conservation and a greener future.
In recognition of his public service, Kikon was formally inducted as an honorary member of the club.
Charter President and Club Advisor Dr. Rosemary Dzüvichü officially solemnised the installation of the incoming leadership team. The new board is led by President Dr. Keneilhoulie Medom, alongside Vice President Neingutuo Usou, Secretary N Pipen Yanthan, and Treasurer Kevisano Maria. Four new regular members were also formally inducted during the event.
Guided by the global theme, "Creating a lasting impact through Rotary", Dr. Medom outlined the club's strategic goals for the upcoming year, which will focus on expanding community outreach, promoting women's empowerment, supporting youth, fostering cross-cultural collaboration, and promoting peace.
Veteran member Om Prakash Gupta from the Rotary Club of Dimapur shared insights into Rotary's history of community impact and encouraged the incoming directors to embrace the opportunity to give back to society.
The ceremony was anchored by past President Kevilenuo Solo, who served as the master of ceremonies. The club's annual report was presented by the outgoing Secretary, Amongla C, while the valedictory address was delivered by outgoing President, Kevino Savino.
The club also presented certificates to 20 women who completed training under the club's tailoring training unit during 2025-26.
A delegation from the Rotary Club of Dimapur, led by its President Pradeep Goel, attended the induction ceremony to show solidarity.
