DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, re-dedicated a hearse van initiated by Rotary Club Dimapur at the club’s premises on Monday.
In his address, the DC thanked the Rotary Club of Dimapur for the humanitarian service they continue to extend to the people of Dimapur.

In this regard, he said the hearse van is the first of its kind in Dimapur and expressed hope that it will serve not only Dimapur district but also neighbouring districts.
He further noted that many people come to Dimapur for medical treatment, and when the patient pass away, their families often struggle to take the mortal remains back to their respective districts or villages. This new service, he said, will greatly ease such challenges.
He affirmed that Dimapur’s growth and development have been shaped collectively by all communities, not just the Nagas, and emphasised the need to continue working together.
President of Rotary Club of Dimapur, Pankaj Modi said that the initiative reflects their commitment in upholding dignity, compassion and service beyond self and the very ideals guide their mission.
The club’s vice president Pradeep Jain stated that they have relaunched the hearse van after making necessary modifications, addressing an important need of the society. The service will be available to all sections of the community, and the van will be dispatched whenever required, he stated.
Jain further informed that the van will operate within Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland districts.
