Rotarians provides potable water to school

[caption id="attachment_209772" align="aligncenter" width="600"] Rotary Club members along the teachers and students of Government Middle School, Sematila, Dimapur, at the launching of filtered drinking water facility in the school premises on September 29.[/caption] Dimapur, Sep. 30 (EMN): Rotary Club of Dimapur and Rotaract Club of Dimapur have jointly constructed hand washing station and installed filtered drinking water at Government Middle School, Sematila, Dimapur, on September 29. The facilities were provided under Rotary India Wash in school (WinS) programme. Rotaract president, Akash Jain, has informed about the details of construction works. The programme began with an invocation said by MrsTohuli. Vihoshe, GB of Sematilla, welcomed all and appreciated the work and service rendered by Rotary and Rotaract Club of Dimapur for the school. Rotary Club literacy chairman, Sanjay Jain, highlighted about the importance of hand washing and filtered drinking water. He added that clean water, better sanitation, teacher training, and hygiene education in school can improve the overall health of children. Rotary president Dr. Nitin Agarwal exhorted that hand washing with soap is the single most important intervention in preventing number of diseases like diarrhoea and respiratory infection (RTI) etc. He also highlighted about Rotary activities and efforts in making India literate. Rotaract vice president had also highlighted on the activities undertaken by the organisation for the community.
