The Rongmei Students’ Union Dimapur (RSUD) has vehemently condemned the assault and subsequently death of Akivito Sumi a class X Student of Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur on December 30. The victim was brutally beaten to death by a group of non-locals of New Market area under the patronage of “notorious paid Naga goons,” the students said Saturday in a press release.
The RSUD condemned the “Goondaism” and “with due regret that our brother’s blood was spilt at our own homeland by mere non locals favored by our own naga brothers and its sad to state that our own Naga Students’ are not safe in our own homeland”.
The RSUD has urged the district police authorities to expedite the investigations “with due urgency to book” all the culprits involved in the crime. The culprits must be awarded befitting punishment ‘with non bailable warrant,’ the organization stated.The Rongmei Students’ Union expressed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
