Dimapur, Sep. 17 (EMN): Various Rongmei organisations have unanimously reaffirmed the mandate given to the signatories of the framework agreement (FA) signed on August 3, 2015, basing on the uniqueness of the Naga history.

The reaffirmation to this effect was taken during a joint consultative meeting of the Rongmei Council Nagaland (RCN), Rongmei Council Peren (RCP), Rongmei Community Dimapur (RCD), Rongmei Council Kohima (RCK), Rongmei Mothers’ Organisation Nagaland (RMON) and Rongmei Pei (RP) with the NSCN (IM) leaders held at Jalukie town in Peren district on September 16.

The joint consultative meeting was initiated by the CAO Asalu Zeliangrong region of the NSCN (IM), an update from the region media cell stated on Thursday.

It stated that the house discussed at length on the present political situation of the Naga movement for self-determination and the roadmap for final settlement. The house expressed concern over the prevailing scenario in which innocent individuals were misguided with false promises by certain vested interest-elements in the district.

The speakers of the meeting included cabinet kilonser Salemyang, kilonser DG Robert, and CAO of the Asalu Zeliangrong Region Hiabe Hau.

Various speakers shared that unlike the topography of most Naga tribes, the Zeliangrong region covers a vast geographical domain touching the three states of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland under the present Indian map.

Taking into consideration the diversity of thoughts and approaches, speakers stressed that the concept to take the people forward and regain the past glory should be the endeavour of every Zeliangrong at this juncture.
