Ronghang re-elected CEM of KAAC

Our correspondent Diphu, July 7 (EMN): Tuliram Ronghang of No.6 MAC constituency of Bithung Rengthama was re-elected as the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the 12th Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) on Friday. Tuliram Ronghang was felicited by KAAC Chairman Horensing Bey with Karbi Poho (scarf). Addressing in the August house, Tuliram Ronghang expressed his sincere gratitude to the Chairman for conducting CEM election peacefully, to all the MACs for their support and to all the people of Karbi Anglong for co-operation and help. Ronghang urged all the MACs to work in unity for achievement and development of Karbi Anglong, the first and foremost issues of the long pending aspirations of the Karbi Anglong people, the Autonomous State under 244 (Article) of the Indian Constitution which is yet to implement.“Our neighbouring states like Nagaland, Meghalaya even Sikkim and Goa have received five thousand to ten thousand crores annual budget whereas Karbi Anglong have received just two hundred crores last year annual budget, comparing to that of population and Geographical boundary are almost the same” stated Ronghang while given his speeh. ‘Karbi Anglong have 10434 sq.KM and we have to get Autonomous State.’ MAC, D. Uphing Maslai said, ‘Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) has to be implement under which various economic package was allotted for the economic development of the region, as the BJP government is governed in Central, state and KAAC as well.’ During a press conference held at KAAC Secretariat conference hall, CEM Ronghang said during his tenure ship, development work such as Diphu Civil Hospital was awarded as the cleanest hospital in the district of Assam and Sikdamakha village awarded as the cleanest village in the district.
