Rockfall, landslides reported on NH-702 in Nagaland; travel advisory issued

DIMAPUR— Close on the heels of a tragic accident that killed two people and injured three after huge boulders fell on the vehicles they were travelling in at Chumoukedima, the deputy commissioner of Longleng has issued a travel advisory, restricting the movement of heavy vehicles along the Changtongya-Longleng stretch of road on National Highway-702 in view of “continuous rockfall, mudslide and landslides at several locations.

The movement of light vehicles on the route will also be allowed only between 6 am and 6 pm till further notice, read the advisory.

“This is for strict compliance and cooperation by all concerned,” it added.
