RO issues notice for Lok Sabha election

DIMAPUR — Returning Officer (RO) of 1- Nagaland parliamentary constituency, Sushil Kumar Patel, informed that an election would be held to elect a member to the House of the People in the Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency-1 (PC-1).

In a notice, the RO informed that nomination papers could be delivered by a candidate or any of his proposer to either the returning officer, Sushil Kumar Patel, or to assistant returning officer, Benjamin Longkap, at the office chamber of the Commissioner in Kohima on the 1st floor between 11 am and 3 pm on any day other than public holiday from March 20 and not later than March 27.

It also informed that forms of nomination paper could be obtained at the aforesaid place and time. It added that the nomination paper will be taken up for scrutiny at 11 am on March 28 at the conference hall-I of the office of the Commissioner in Kohima.

It informed that notice of withdrawal of candidature could be delivered either by a candidate or by any of his proposer or by his election agent who has been authorised in writing by the candidate to deliver it to either the returning officer or assistant returning officer at its office before 3 pm on March 30.

In the event of the election being contested, the poll will be held on April 19 between 7 am and 4 pm.

In a separate statement, the commissioner of Nagaland and returning officer of the 1-Nagaland parliamentary constituency informed that it is opened to receive queries and complaints related to the upcoming Lok Sabha election 2024.
