Riot Games unveils new agent KAY/O for Valorant

Dimapur, June 17 (EMN): Riot Games unveiled a new agent for Valorant today, KAY/O, a “machine of war” that has suppression abilities and an ultimate that lets any teammate revive him.

KAY/O is an initiator and it has four different abilities. The first ability is called ZERO/point where KAY/O throws a suppression blade. The blade when cast sticks to the first surface it hits and suppresses any agent within its blast radius. While in a suppressed state, enemy agents cannot use their abilities and will have to rely on gun skill. It can also deactivate Killjoy‘s annoying gun turrets.

The second ability is called FLASH/drive. This ability lets KAY/O throw flash grenades with two fuse options. Right-clicking will throw a flash grenade that will explode after a 1 second cook time while the left click will increase the cooking time to 1.6 seconds.

KAY/O‘s third ability is called FRAG/ment. This ability will let KAY/O throw an “explosive fragment” that sticks to the ground and explode multiple times. It is similar to a Molotov in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive or Raze‘s Cluster Grenade. The ability has the potential to kill off an enemy agent if they’re caught at the centre of its blast.

Finally, KAY/O‘s ultimate ability is called NULL/cmd. This ability enables KAY/O to “instantly overload with polarized radianite energy,” get a combat stim and emit energy pulses that can suppress enemy agents for a short duration. Not only that, KAY/O cannot be killed while in its “overload” state, it can only be disabled allowing teammates to “stabilize” KAY/O‘s core and effectively revive him. This ability makes KAY/O the second agent after Sage to have the ability to bring back eliminated players.

KAY/O is scheduled to be released on Valorant live servers on June 22.
